Keep everything OpenBB
Workspace gives you.Add the analyst's desk.
BDOBB reads the same widgets.json and apps.json your OpenBB backends already serve, so nothing you have built is thrown away. On top of that contract it adds pivots that understand financial data, dates that follow the trading calendar, widgets that stay put, and an agent whose every change can be undone.

Three front ends.
One backend contract.
Workspace and Workspace Lite are built for teams sharing a server. BDOBB is built for one analyst's desk, and it speaks the same language as both, so the widgets you write once serve all three.

Straight talk
Where Workspace stays the right call.
BDOBB is additive by design. If you need a shared server for a team, Workspace and Lite lead, and BDOBB still connects to the same backends beside them.
Many users on one serverAccounts, roles, an admin console and sharing belong to Workspace and Lite. BDOBB has no accounts; optional Workspace sign-in syncs display settings.
Warehouse connectorsSQL, Snowflake, Databricks and ClickHouse connectors are Workspace features. In BDOBB, SQL lives in your backend and dropped CSV and XLS files become local tables.
Server-side tables and the Excel add-inWorkspace's
ssrm_table, Terminal widget and Excel add-in have no BDOBB equivalent. BDOBB exports tables and statements to XLSX.Next step
