The hosted team workspace
- Accounts, sharing and enterprise administration
- AG Grid tables with a chart view
- OpenBB Copilot and Workspace MCP tools
- Parameter groups that link widgets
BDOBB reads the same widgets.json and apps.json your OpenBB backends already serve, so nothing you have built is thrown away. On top of that contract it adds pivots that understand financial data, dates that follow the trading calendar, widgets that stay put, and an agent whose every change can be undone.

BDOBB is built for one analyst's desk, and it speaks the same language as both, so the widgets you write once serve all three.
widgets.jsonapps.jsonagents.jsonOne backend can serve a team on Lite and an analyst on BDOBB at the same time. Each panel says what you already have in Workspace and what BDOBB layers on top. Open any of them for a working walk-through.
Eight drawers of controls slide out of any table card. Measures, formulas and filters recalculate in a background worker.
Trading days, sessions, fiscal periods and option expiries, resolved against an exchange calendar with holidays and early closes.
$currentDate with h, d, w, M, y offsetsPin one widget to a dashboard's edge, or lock a band of widgets that stays live on every dashboard and every tab.
Put several dashboards on screen at once, each with its own tabs and controls, and save the arrangement. Give it a minimum resolution and the best fit opens at launch, zoomed evenly on a smaller screen.
Financial statements fold by section with fiscal periods as columns. Any dated table can become a day, week or month calendar.
Eighteen local tools build dashboards, move and pin cards, and arrange tables through the same engine as the Pivot drawer. Any model, no account.
BDOBB 10.0.0 carries everything above, plus what landed in 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0. Each one reads a contract your stack already serves.
The News card streams headlines from an rss-ticker server, with feed tabs you define, highlight keywords, a vertical list or a scrolling strip, and rss-agg.json import and export.

A live_grid card loads its snapshot over HTTP, then merges each streamed row by its identity column, field by field. It keeps everything a table card has: saved sort, filters, pins and widths.
live_grid widgets over a websocketThe live grid's logos and 52-week ranges come from a backend's symbol_meta; OpenBB's reference /live_grid_ws still works as it has since v3. A header credential can't ride a browser websocket, so a backend that checks one on the handshake keeps the grid on its snapshot.
BDOBB is additive by design. If you need a shared server for a team, Workspace and Lite lead, and BDOBB still connects to the same backends beside them.
ssrm_table, Terminal widget and Excel add-in have no BDOBB equivalent. BDOBB exports tables and statements to XLSX.The comparison lays out OpenBB Workspace, Workspace Lite and BDOBB row by row, with what each one gives you and what BDOBB adds.
